Business Assistance Program
BEDC has developed a highly effective model for growing small businesses through consulting offered by Michael G. Foster School of Business students and business executives. The Business Assistance Program has evolved in the Seattle area and has been replicated by colleges and universities throughout the Northwest.
Businesses selected to participate receive pro bono legal and risk management advice, mentoring from business executives, and access to cutting-edge business management techniques. (Review business selection criteria and program timeline.)
Partnerships with the King County Bar Association, the Seattle Rotary Club, Foster School of Business alumni and leading corporations enhance the more than 300 hours of consulting work provided to each client by students. Consulting services include developing marketing strategies, building company Web sites and databases, completing financial analysis, developing human resource management systems, and improving operational infrastructures.
