Information for Current MBA Students

Students begin our graduate programs with many different objectives. Our goal is to help each student achieve the unique career objectives he or she wants to pursue. Students seeking to explore new career opportunities and further define goals can connect with faculty and alumni who have experience in particular fields and industries; and with career coaches who will support and facilitate career exploration. Students with a career plan receive help to connect with alumni and recruiters in a particular job function, industry, company or geographic region. This opens channels to job leads and the kind of project opportunities that get students inside companies to gain hands-on experience.

Career Connections & Networking Resources

UWAA Career Connections: "Husky Career Network"
Career Connections is the UWAA's online database of alumni of the UW Business School and graduates of other UW colleges and schools. These alumni have volunteered to provide information on their industries, companies, and job functions, to discuss their own career paths, and to offer suggestions to students and fellow alums considering similar careers or career transitions.

Mentor Program
The Mentor Program connects MBA students with senior executives in the Seattle business community. Students are given the valuable opportunity to draw on their mentor's depth of experience to explore a variety of business and career-related issues.

Connecting Students in Executive Programs

Students in the Executive MBA and Technology Management MBA programs are often either sponsored or supported by their employer. In other cases they may be seeking career opportunities that do not align with opportunities typically provided by recruiters of full-time or part-time MBA graduates. Our career services provide students in these programs with career management tools, career counseling to enhance career development and effectiveness with a current employer, and connections that can lead to new opportunities. Students can make an appointment by calling MBA Career Services at (206) 685-2410 or emailing us at bcc@u.washington.edu.
