Global Business Forum

The Global Business Forum is an MBA class and speaker series focused on international business issues.  The forum invites regional executives from private sector companies and non-profit organizations to share their perspective on working in a global business environment.  MBAs, graduate students from other UW departments, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate.

WINTER 2009: There are now two sections of the Global Business Forum, both of which are followed by an informal Q&A session with the speaker(s).  Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag meal and join us for an informative and interesting discussion.
Sections A/B meet Mondays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. in Balmer 413.  Regional focus is Russia.
Sections C/D meet Tuesdays from 5:00-5:50 p.m. in Balmer 303.  Regional focus is Africa and the Middle East.

During the 2008-09 academic year the forum will spotlight business issues related to BRICs – Brazil, Russia, India, and China – the emerging economies singled out by Goldman Sachs as the “brick” of global business in the next decades.  In addition, speakers will address broader global issues as well as provide glimpses into their experience in other locations, including Africa, the Middle East and the “new BRICs,” the next wave of emerging business centers.

Enrollment for credit in the Global Business Forum (BA 545, Global Business Issues) during three academic quarters is a requirement for the Global Business Program certificate.
