Financing Your MBA
Scholarships
The Michael G. Foster School of Business provides scholarships to over half of the students
in the MBA Program. There are two forms of scholarships available: merit-based
and need-based.
Merit-based Scholarships
- Awarded to both domestic and international students.
- First year awards are based on competitive factors you provide in the application for admission including your GMAT score, GPA, and admission interview. No additional scholarship application is required.
- Second year merit scholarships are awarded based on GPA during your first year in the MBA Program, involvement in and contribution to student clubs, and activities and demonstration of professionalism. Second year students must apply for merit scholarships using an online application available during Winter quarter and due in mid-April.
Need-based scholarships
- Awarded to first year and second year students based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA form).
- Both incoming and current students must complete the online scholarship application and submit the required supplemental materials to be considered for need-based funds. Priority is given to students who apply by the April 15th scholarship deadline, AND who have also filed the FAFSA by the March 1 priority deadline.
- Important: Read these detailed instructions before filing your online scholarship form.
In addition to Foster School scholarships, students are encouraged to research external scholarship opportunities.
