Analyst
Jody Andress (BA 1994, MBA 2003) majored in political
science at the UW and landed her first job after
graduation as a legislative assistant for the House
of Representatives in Washington State.
After a great experience there she went to London
under a special program that granted temporary
work permits to recent graduates and worked as
an editor for EuroWeek, a financial magazine. This
led to another job in London as a research analyst
for the International Financial Review and fueled
her interest in pursuing a career in financial
services.
In 1998, Andress parlayed her London experience
into her first job on Wall Street as an analyst
in the investment banking division for Credit Suisse
First Boston. Two years later she returned to the
UW Business School to pursue her MBA. "Even
though I’d accumulated lots of good work
experience, the MBA gave my career a big boost," Jody
recalls. "I’ve been able to double
my salary – and many more opportunities are
within reach."
Andress loves her current position as an analyst
for Calyon in real estate finance and also is excited
about her upcoming marriage in the spring, which
will take place in Seattle. "There’s
no place more beautiful than the Northwest, but
if you want a career in finance, New York is definitely
where the action is." |
